- SMS and Communication Data: UHAB utilizes messaging and SMS technology to communicate with both UHAB’s existing and prospective clients, as well as any individual or organization who has opted-in to receive such messages. Consumers can opt-in to receive text messages by completing online forms at https://www.uhab.org/get-involved/signup/. You may also opt-in to receive these messages by providing a verbal agreement over the phone. When you register to receive such messages for the first time, you will be asked to provide your phone number, and will be informed that “Message and data rates may apply,” “Message frequency may vary,” and that you can “text HELP for support or more information and STOP to unsubscribe at any time.” Our staff is additionally trained to ask if you as the customer would like to opt-in to SMS-based notifications, and when applicable, will verbally inform you of the above, as well as that your phone number will not be shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. If you or your organization opts-in to receive such messages from us, we reserve the right to collect and store your phone number and communication preferences about how you would like to be contacted and choices you have made to send you communications.
3. How We Use Your Information:
UHAB and its service providers use your collected information to provide updates, send alerts and promotional messages via SMS (only after you have consented to receiving such communications), and oversee the management and maintenance of your or your organization’s account.
We do not sell or rent your personal information or data. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
4. Text Messaging & Opt-Out Policy
By providing your name, phone number, and by marking the selectable checkbox to indicate that you have agreed to opt-in to receive communications and updates from us, you consent to receive SMS messages from UHAB. Message frequency may vary. Standard message and data rates may apply. For assistance, text “HELP” or “INFO.” You can opt-out at any time by replying “STOP” or “UNSUBSCRIBE” to any message. We do not share your mobile information with third parties.
