There is a new state program to help homeowners who are struggling to stay current on their housing payments, You can use the Homeowner Assistance Fund to pay off arrears in your HDFC.

The application portal is open now. Apply as soon as possible to recieve funding at nyhomeownerfund.org. You can also sign up for a class from UHAB to learn more.
